Statement follows talking about the time and place of the incident as well as its general nature. The statement may also focus on what impact of the incident is. For instance, this could include talking about the state of the crew and bystanders, the stability of the vessel and the presence or absence of pollution. 

Next, we need to focus on what is being done about the incident. How did the vessel master and the crew respond? What is the company doing to address the situation? Are they in contact with local authorities and or the coastguard? 

Finally, we need to provide some information on the vessel. Consider providing vessel specs, dead weight tonnage, vessel type, registration country and year built.
